CVX portfolio company Artelize has just closed a successful pre-seed investment round of €1. million. The funding will help Artelize through its next phase, which aims to support artists and arts organizations that are still struggling to gain visibility and attract new and diverse audiences to their events and concerts. With significant support from investors such as Bjørn Bruun, founder of Bruuns Bazaar, and Peter Jakobsen from Human Act Development, this investment round marks an important step in Artelize’s growth.
Sune Hjerrild, Founder & CEO, Artelize, said: “Our investors clearly recognise the importance of our mission to transform the way artists and producers connect with existing and new fans.”
Angel investor Bjørn Bruun and VC investor Peter Jacobsen commented: “Our investment in Artelize is driven by our confidence in their advanced technical capabilities and the rich artistic experience of their founders. We believe that Artelize’s unique blend of technology and artistic insight will greatly expand global access for both artists and organizers, ushering in a new era of connectivity and creativity in the global artistic community.”
CVX actively contributed to the company in 2022, bringing in Morten Poulsen as an advisor and investor. In addition, CVX has supported the company with two additional advisors, Pernille Thorslund and Christian Lawaetz Halvorsen.
Launched in 2022, Artelize uses artificial intelligence to automatically collect information about concerts and events in opera and classical music, ballet and dance, musicals, spoken theatre and jazz. Here you can create performer and event pages that artists and presenters can then use to promote themselves. The platform currently features 24,000 upcoming events and 29,000 artists, primarily focused on the US market. However, the funding will enable Artelize to expand to the UK and Europe as well.
This successful investment round is a clear sign of the growing interest in the digitalization of performing arts. CVX is proud to have Artelize as part of our portfolio and looks forward to following their continued growth and expansion into new markets. With Artelize’s focus on AI and usability, they are well positioned to create new ways for artists and arts organizations to interact with their audience.
