When Female Invest launched in 2019, it did so to create a community for women who wanted to invest in the stock market. Now Female Invest is giving users access to trading directly through their platform.
The Copenhagen-based startup announced the acquisition of Gaia Investments this week with plans to integrate the trading platform into its app. Gaia raised an investment round at a $3 million valuation three months before the acquisition.
“Since day one, we have always been very focused on building the features and products that were requested by our community, and we get requests every day for the possibility to trade directly through us” says the co-founder of Female Invest, Camilla Falkenberg.
She believes, Female Invest gets this request so often because their users trust them. A recent survey found that 96% of their users would trust Female Invest with their money more than their bank.
Last year, Female Invest participated in the American accelerator program Y-Combinator and danish investors such as Mia Wagner and Jeppe Christiansen are among their investors as well as the VC fund Green Visor Capital.
